One of the biggest players in the coffee industry, Starbucks, has made an announcement that does not plan to accept bitcoins as payment.

“It should be noted that we are not going to accept digital assets as payment. Most likely, the exchange will allow us to convert bitcoins into American dollars, which consumers can already spend in our network. At the moment we are working only on trading and exchanging Bitcoin, but we will discuss further actions with customers and regulators as the industry develops, ” was stated by the representatives of Starbucks.

The company’s role so far is limited to consulting and participation in the development of various applications for converting bitcoin into fiat currencies.

“Consumers will not be able to pay their frappuccino with bitcoins,” the spokesman said.
